Sludge dewatering allows significant savings in handling and transport, due to sludge decrease in weight and volume. DRAIMAD system consists in filtering modules, equipped with bags, to sludge remain during dewatering. Filtration takes place, for sludge with 15 to 30% solids content in about 1 - 2 days. As adjuvant, is necessary only polyelectrolyte addition, in order to cause sludge flocculation.
Due to bags hydrophobic characteristics, sludge undergoes continuous natural dehydration, the water can be extracted to the desired percentage of solids, simply by increasing or decreasing the residence time in the open air. The bags containing the dry sludge function as robust containers allowing simple, easy, fast and clean handling and transport. With a storage of two months a drying percentage of the order of 70 - 80% is reached, and can even reach the value of 95%.
Vertical sludge thickener tank, ECODEPUR® SL VT5.0 AC, are containers for receiving sludge, made of properly protected Carbon Steel.
